A centralized wireless network management solution is provided by the Tenda M3, designed to monitor, configure, and control multiple WiFi access points from a single device. Up to 128 APs are able to be managed simultaneously, allowing SSID, channel, encryption, and transmit power settings to be uniformly deployed across all connected APs. Configuration profiles may be created and applied in batches, making it ideal for hotels, schools, offices, or any environment with many access points.
The hardware is outfitted with five gigabit Ethernet ports, enabling high-speed communication and minimal bottlenecks across wired connections. A reset button is included, along with LED indicators to display system status and port activity. The controller is powered from standard AC input, and functions with reliable performance under typical environmental conditions. Multiple VLANs and SSID-VLAN binding features are allowed so network segmentation and guest networks are implemented securely without needing individual AP configuration.
Key Features and Explanations
Centralized Management of Many APs: Automatic discovery of connected APs is supported, making it simpler to deploy and maintain wireless infrastructure without manually configuring each access point.
Uniform SSID, Channel and Security Policies: Profiles for SSID, security mode (WPA/WPA2), transmit power and wireless channel may be defined once and pushed out to all managed APs for consistency and ease of use.
Gigabit Ethernet Backbone: Five gigabit LAN ports ensure that wired traffic to and from the controller and APs remains fast, reducing delays and maximizing throughput.
Support for VLANs and Guest Networks: SSID-to-VLAN binding allows differentiated access for different user groups and guest clients, enhancing security and segmenting traffic as needed.
Real-Time Monitoring and Alerts: AP online/offline status, number of connected clients, and traffic alerts are reportable, so network administrators are kept aware of performance or failures early.
Batch Operations: Firmware upgrades, reboots, resets, and policy edits can be applied to many APs at once, saving time and minimizing configuration errors in large deployments.
